Water treatment
Depending on the quality of your water supply we offer a wide variety of water treatments to provide you with a clean safe supply of water. Please click on the title to take you to the correct treatment.

Bacterial control
Having established that there is bacterial contamination in your water  there are three main options of control; Ultra- violet treatment, chlorine dosing and ozone purification.

Ultra-violet water treatment
The most cost effective and frequently used on private water supplies, UV treatment destroys micro-organisms by changing their DNA. This type of treatment requires a clear sample of water to allow the UV light to penetrate the water and is therefore typically installed with a sediment removal pre-filter. These units must be installed near to the point of use to ensure that the supply is not re-contaminated
.  Such installations require annual servicing and we offer an annual reminder and maintenance service.

Chlorine dosing
Typically used on large-scale systems where a water source supplies many properties and also on remote water storage tanks. Chlorine is added to the water at a specific dilution by using a dosing pump.

Ozone purification
Used in specialized or large scale supplies. Ozone purifies water by breaking up organic contaminants and converting iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide into an insoluble form that can be filtered out. It also destroys bacteria, viruses and protozoa. While being an effective disinfectant it quickly converts back to oxygen when it decomposes making it safe to use and environmentally friendly.

Sediment removal
There are three main ways to control sediment in water supplies; prevent contamination, settlement and filtration. One or a combination of these methods may be advised.

Preventing contamination: Provision of a sealed catchment area to stop surface runoff contamination will go a long way to reducing sediment problems.

Settlement: Larger particles can be removed using a storage tank as a settlement chamber.

Filtration
Most frequently a filter housing will be installed on your supply line with a changeable filter inside. Filters come in many materials and grades of filtration, which are measured in microns. There are several types of filtration; sand, bag, wound and spun polypropylene. Filterclean only use quality true depth filtration filters.

Water softening
Hard water control. A water softener will be installed on your supply line. The "hard water" minerals are removed by an ion exchange process that involves the water passing over a specialized resin within the softener. The unit requires salt which  is used in the regeneration process that washes away the unwanted minerals down the drain.
Pure water
Taste and odour removal – Get bottled water quality from your tap.
Many people notice both taste and odour in their mains supply. Carbon filtration can remove this, leaving you with fresh water for drinking and cooking.

Pure H²0 -Reverse osmosis
Both domestic and industrial units.
Reverse osmosis membranes can remove 95% of all impurities. Pure water has a wide range of applications from ice making in pubs and restaurants to specialized industrial use,  such as Whisky making. Now available to the domestic market with undersink units that provide this high quality pure water in your own home.
Specialist treatment
Iron, pH, Manganese, Nitrates and H²S.
Further to a water analysis various water treatments can be undertaken to correct the chemical balance within your water. Both metallic and non-metallic contaminants can be removed by passing water through a bed of specialized media. These media act in two ways; triggering the precipitation of the contaminants to form insoluble particles and then physically filtering them out. By selecting the correct media very specific problems can be solved.
