Pure water - Taste and odour removal

Many people find the mains water they are supplied does not taste as they would wish, this has lead to the increase in the sale of bottled water and jug filters. Install an active carbon filter  or a small reverse osmosis unit under the sink and have drinking water of the quality you desire from your tap.

Get bottled water quality from your tap using activated carbon filtration.

Activated carbon filtration can be used in industrial, commercial or domestic situations. In the home a designated drinking faucet is installed and an activated carbon filter fits easily onto your pipe work and removes any nasty taste or smell whilst still ensuring the water remains safe to drink.

Activated carbon filters are effective in the removal of tastes and odours from water and for the reduction of chlorine. They also have the ability to reduce many organic compounds. Specially prepared activated carbon is selected for its efficient filtration capabilities from a variety of material sources. A large surface of available filtration area is achieved by the creation of many fine pores and channels in each of the carbon granules.

The filters work in three ways. Firstly by absorption, a process of molecular forces that attracts the unwanted molecules and holds them on the surface of the carbon permanently. Secondly, activated carbon acts as a catalyst when it changes the molecules of chlorine to a chloride ion. In addition it can convert foul smelling hydrogen sulphide to a taste and odour free substance. Thirdly activated carbon acts as a conventional depth filter by working as a sieve to remove large particulate matter.
